I personally really like the second Little Mermaid. Not nearly as much as the first, but I do enjoy it. (I even sort of enjoy the third one as well.)
Melody is a cute character and I love how she's the perfect combination of Ariel and Eric. It's sad that she is pretty much the most forgotten Disney princess besides Eilonwy (Black Cauldron). She needs more love!
I really like how she turned out. At first I wasn't going to add legging, but her dress/long shirt was a little too short so I decided that it'd be better if she had some tights. Plus, it adds a pop of color from her fin.
I also added bones and physics to her necklace so it'll move when she dances. Thank you for allowing me edit her, Dramakid99!
Melody will be a part of the big updated pack to go with the younger girls, Alice and- well, you'll just have to see~

Melody does need more attention and love, for the reasons you mentioned and also because Ariel's sisters are never revealed to have had any children of their own. Many times, I find myself wishing that Melody had at least one or two cousins.
